Our Paediatric First Aid Course in Bristol is designed to meet the requirements of the Department for Education’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, ensuring that childcare professionals and carers are fully prepared to manage paediatric emergencies.

Important Note:

Newly qualified childcare professionals (after 30 June 2016) with Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications must obtain a full or emergency paediatric first aid certificate within three months of starting work.

  • Must be capable of performing practical tasks, including floor-level activities

Course Content

This comprehensive course covers a wide range of paediatric emergencies, including:

  • Roles and responsibilities of paediatric first aiders
  • Infant and child CPR with AED use
  • Managing choking incidents
  • Treating wounds, bleeding, and shock
  • Dealing with unconscious casualties
  • Managing fractures, spinal, and head injuries
  • Recognising and responding to anaphylaxis
  • Burns, scalds, and catastrophic bleeding
  • High temperatures, febrile seizures, and poisoning
  • Treating bites and stings

Certification and Validity

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Paediatric First Aid Certificate, valid for three years.
